The bricklayer and the cathedral

Karen Kuchenbecker with the Charleston Regional Development Alliance mentioned Tri-County Cradle to Career Collaborative in a recent blog post about the parable of the bricklayer and the cathedral.

“While it’s difficult to see progress in the day-to-day labor of laying bricks, with time, patience, and an unwavering commitment, all Charlestonians will one day be empowered to reap the benefits of a rewarding, family supporting career,” she wrote.

School closings

Brrrr … it’s freezing out there!

Students and teachers in the tri-county region are missing class because of the forecast for winter weather conditions.

Berkeley County School District: BCSD schools and offices were closed on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Faculty and staff members returned to work on a two-hour delay on Monday, January 8.

Charleston County School District: CCSD schools and offices were closed on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Faculty and staff members returned to work at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 8.

Dorchester School District Two: DD2 schools and offices were closed on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Schools will reopen on a regular schedule on Wednesday, January 10.

Dorchester School District Four: DD4 schools and offices were closed on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Schools will reopen on a regular schedule on Wednesday, January 10.

College of Charleston: The college was closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Charleston School of Law: The school was closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Charleston Southern University: The university was closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The university reopened at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 8.

Lowcountry Graduate Center: The center was closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The center reopened at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 6.

Medical University of South Carolina: The university was closed and classes were canceled on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The Citadel: The campus was closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Trident Technical College: The college was closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The college reopened Monday, January 8 at 10 a.m. Classes started Tuesday, January 9.
